eSCRIBE.ch Scoring System

SMV Competition is the cloud-based registration and scoring software for model flying competitions of various categories. The software is operated by the Swiss aeromodelling federation (SMV) and was developed by a team of competition enthusiastic pilots.

No local software installation is required to use the software. The ESCRIBE for data acquisition communicate directly with the SMV Competition Server. It is therefore a SaaS solution (Software-as-a-Service).
Typically, scores are recorded directly by the judges via the so-called eSCRIBE. However, the software can also be used for manual entry of scores.
Training by the SMV Competition Team is a prerequisite for using the solution. The use of the software is generally free of charge. The SMV Competition Team does not pursue any commercial interests. Sufficient eSCRIBES are available for use within Switzerland and Liechtenstein. It is also possible to borrow such devices for events abroad. If someone outside of Switzerland decides to use the software on a large scale, it would probably be necessary to purchase their own eSCRIBES. The material costs for the classic eSCRIBE are about 150 Euro per device. The case can be printed out by a 3D printer.
For scale competitions, the tablet version of the eSCRIBE can also be used. This is a Windows tablet which costs about 130 euros.

To collect the data, the judges use the SMV eSCRIBE or Tablets (Static Scale). Although the system is cloud based, data collection with the eSCRIBES can continue even without an internet connection..

For the pilots and spectators there is a real time terminel (RTT) which shows all relevant information about the competition in real time. Depending on the size of the event, everything can be used from a normal PC monitor up to a big screen
